VSU bumps Friday baseball game to Sunday

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State has announced a change in schedule for baseball.

Friday’s game against Union (Tennessee) is being moved to Sunday at 1 p.m. Saturday’s doubleheader with Union will take place at its scheduled time, with the opener at 1 p.m.

The Blazers are currently 7-6 on the year after dropping Tuesday’s game to St. Leo (Florida), 6-2. They are 2-4 in Gulf South contests.

Despite the record, several VSU batters are off to a hot start. Ryan Romano is hitting .447 to lead the club, with Dennis Pierce at .386.

Jovanni Canegitta, and Jacob Harper have .333 averages with Pedro Moreno at .327. Pierce leads with 18 RBIs. Moreno has scored 14 runs.
