Shaw named to the University of North Georgia Dean’s List
DAHLONEGA — Susanna Shaw of Valdosta was recently named to the University of North Georgia Dean’s List for spring 2024.Dean’s list recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.
Hennly commissions as a second lieutenant
DAHLONEGA — In a ceremony held May 2 by the University of North Georgia, 52 graduating cadets were awarded commissions as second lieutenants.
Dylan Jesse Hennly of Valdosta commissioned into the Army Reserve, Military Police.
Bob Jones University students named to Dean’s List
GREENVILLE, SC — The following local students are among approximately 740 Bob Jones University students named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2024 semester:
Hahira: Peter Cartwright.
Valdosta: Zoey Mindziak.
The dean’s list recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade point average during the semester.
Berry College celebrates Class of 2024
ROME — Berry College welcomed its newest class of graduates, including three from Valdosta:
Carson King of Valdosta earned a BA degree in Communication.
Caitlin Herring of Valdosta earned a BS degree in Chemistry.
Rosa Sanchez Alvarado of Valdosta earned a BS degree in Marketing.
Berry College announces spring Dean’s List
ROME — The Berry College Dean’s List honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.
Area students include:
Hahira: Gavin Brown and Michela Marshall.
Valdosta: Caitlin Herring, Carson King and Bradley Porter.
SRTC recognizes President’s List students
THOMASVILLE— Recently, the administration at Southern Regional Technical College recognized exceptional students achieving the honor of president’s list for the spring 2024 term, which ended May 1.
Each semester, SRTC recognizes students who have accomplished high academic achievement through the President’s List. In order to qualify for the President’s List, students must meet two criteria: earn a grade of “A” in all coursework attempted and be enrolled in 12 semester credit hours or more at the college.

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — The University of the Cumberlands congratulated all graduates in the Class of 2024, including the following area students, who received a degree in Fall 2023 or Spring 2023, or are set to complete their degree in Summer 2024 (and were thus eligible to walk at Cumberlands’ commencement ceremonies):

UNG announces President’s Lists
DAHLONEGA — University of North Georgia President Michael P. Shannon recognized students who achieved a 4.0 GPA during the spring 2024 semester.
Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor’s degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the president’s honor roll.
Students enrolled in associate degree or dual enrollment programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the president’s list.
Area students include:
Lenox: Krysta Danforth.
Nashville: Sammy Hand.
Valdosta: Erin Halter.
UNG confers degrees for Spring 2024 graduates
DAHLONEGA — For the Spring 2024 semester, the University of North Georgia awarded about 1,700 degrees and certificates to graduates.
Many of the graduates participated in the Spring 2024 commencement ceremonies held May 2-3 at the Convocation Center at UNG’s Dahlonega Campus.
Local graduates included:
Dylan Hennly of Valdosta graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
Annabelle Trutt of Adel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
