VALDOSTA — A Valdosta physician was named to a state medical board recently by Gov. Brian Kemp.

Dr. David Retterbush was named to the Georgia Composite Medical Board, a statement from the governor’s office said Monday.

Retterbush has been a general surgeon for over 30 years with interests in broad-based general surgery and an emphasis on breast, laparoscopic, oncologic, and endoscopic procedures.

Retterbush is on staff at SGMC and Smith Northview Hospital in Valdosta. He has held numerous leadership positions, including Chief of Staff, Medical Director, Chairman of the Department of Surgery, and Chief of General Surgery.
