VALDOSTA — Pete Hegseth, co-host of FOX & Friends Weekend on the FOX News Channel, will speak at Georgia Christian School’s annual fundraising banquet Nov. 21.
The school’s fundraiser is a significant local event. Previous speakers have included former President George W. Bush, first lady Laura Bush, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, NFL greats Terry Bradshaw and Archie Manning, and other political and sports luminaries. Last year’s speaker was Ben Shapiro, conservative podcaster and radio show host.
On FOX News, Hegseth is a commentator on every major program — both for daytime and primetime shows. He regularly guest-hosts for FOX & Friends (weekday), The Five, Hannity, Ingraham Angle and Jesse Watters Primetime. He also co-hosts FOX News’ New Year’s Eve coverage, alongside his FOX & Friends Weekend co-hosts. He first joined the network as a contributor in 2014.
On FOX Nation, Hegseth is the host of multiple ongoing series, to include: Modern Warriors (military), Battle in the Holy Land (Israel), The MisEducation of America (education), Untold: Patriots Revealed (history), and The Life of Jesus (Christianity). He also hosts the flagship annual FOX Nation Patriot Awards and headlines FOX Nation’s coverage of major political events.
Hegseth’s most recent book – “Battle for the American Mind” (June, 2022) – spent over 12 weeks on the New York Times best-sellers list, including four straight weeks at #1. Two of his previous books – “American Crusade” and “Modern Warriors” – were also best-sellers.
Hegseth served as in infantry officer in the Army National Guard, serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Guantanamo Bay. He holds two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman Badge for his time in Iraq and Afghanistan. Hegseth also held the position of CEO for Concerned Veterans for America, a veterans advocacy organization.
Hegseth has a bachelor’s degree in politics from Princeton University and master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government (although he mailed this degree back to Harvard!). He and his wife Jenny live in Middle Tennessee and have seven children.
The GCS banquet featured only sports figures the first few years. The dinner became a popular event in South Georgia and has introduced the school to new people.
The dinner fundraiser has helped the school build a new middle school and high school, according to Brad Lawson, the school’s president. Phase 1 of the high school construction is under way now, with an auditorium planned for Phase 2.
The Georgia Christian School banquet is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 21, in the Valdosta State University Student Union Ballroom.
