Generals cruise to 41-8 victory over David Emanuel

STILLMORE — The Georgia Christian Generals football team continued their dominant season with a 41-8 win over David Emanuel Academy on Friday night. Despite a slow start, the Generals quickly took control after allowing only their second touchdown of the season in the first quarter.

Senior quarterback Briceten Gaines led the offensive charge, completing 5 of 13 passes for 125 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 84 yards and two more touchdowns. Carson Hanks got the scoring started with a 60-yard touchdown run, finishing the game with 85 rushing yards.

Tyson Copeland was a key contributor in the air, hauling in 61 yards and two touchdowns, as the Generals’ offense overwhelmed the opposition after the early misstep.

On the defensive side, James Frazier led with eight tackles, while Davey Grizzle, Jett Guilliams, and Bo Miller each added seven tackles apiece. Benji Galindo had three tackles and an interception to round out a solid defensive effort.

After the early touchdown by David Emanuel Academy, the Generals clamped down, denying any further scoring and dominating the remainder of the game.

The Generals now set their sights on their homecoming game this Friday, Oct. 25, where they will face Crisp Academy (1-7) at home.
