VALDOSTA — On a memorable homecoming night rescheduled after Hurricane Helene, the Georgia Christian Generals returned home to cap their regular season home schedule with a dominant 44-0 shutout victory over Crisp Academy.
The Generals’ offense was electric, outgaining the Wildcats 348 yards to 120. Carson Hanks led the charge, and put on a show with 180 rushing yards on just eight carries, finding the end zone three times.
Quarterback Briceten Gaines added a strong aerial component, completing 3 of 7 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Hayden Coats was the go-to target, reeling in all three receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Georgia Christian stifled the Wildcats at every turn. James Frazier anchored the unit with seven tackles, while Tyson Copeland and Coats added four and five tackles, respectively.
Copeland’s interception returned for a touchdown in the second quarter further fueled the Generals’ defensive stand and set the tone for the rest of the game.
With a 44-0 shutout, the Generals gave their fans a Homecoming night to remember, wrapping up their home games on a high note. The Generals will take on Sherwood on Friday, Nov. 1, in Albany, for their final regular season game as they look to carry this momentum into the postseason.
