The Kamala Harris campaign and its illusionists

In Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, a vanity cursed emperor believes he is adorned in a magical clothing that only those who are “worthy” can see.

The reality, as you recall, is no such cloth exists. His subjects, however, fearful of being deemed intellectually deficient pretend to see the emperor’s beautifully stitched “apparel”.

The delusional promenade continues until finally a child points and exclaims, “But he’s not wearing anything!”

Out of the mouth of babes.

Like the hapless emperor, the presidential campaign of Vice President Kama Harris is void of substance.  And attention must be diverted from that painfully obvious omission.

So, bring on the ad hominem attacks on President Donald Trump by the Socialist Democrats’ current leader Vice President and presidential nominee Kamala Harris, mainstream media, and the deep state including, of late, former Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly, Liz Cheney, and Mark Cuban, to name a few.

And they’ve conjured up a new myth:  former President Donald Trump is a “fascist”, is “unhinged”, and “unstable”.  None of this, by the way, was on display at last Sunday’s Madison Square Garden event.

Calling Mr. Trump a fascist is one of the ugliest epitaphs one can hurl at another human being.  It is mean spirited; it is vile.

It seems that Mr. Trump is a “fascist”, the more serious insult, because he promises to put American interest first both at home and abroad, stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the country, deport the illegal criminal element already in the country, and, in general, bring peace and prosperity back to America.

Americans have heard this thousands of times before from the bitter left:  Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, George W. Bush, and even Mitt Romney have all been similarly tagged on that same fascist Facebook page as well. And the supportive susurration from the media cabal was as deafening then as it is now.

As she has done this entire campaign season, Ms. Harris and her handlers continue to divert attention from the nihility of the Socialist Democrat’s campaign.  That this campaign could easily be adapted to a Jerry Seinfield’s sitcom speaks for itself:  it’s a campaign about nothing.

But when your campaign has no substance, as in the case of Ms. Harris, you need to divert attention from that fact.

Seventy or so days ago Ms. Harris gave a speech following her DNC appearance.  Like the prior speech, there was “joy” and “hope” sprinkled with little or nothing else. The Wall Street Journal noted that it was “well delivered and optimistic, and mostly devoid of policy substance.”

The real point of the speech, of course, was to lay the groundwork for the campaign of lies and falsehoods now seen in Ms. Harris’ media campaign: that Mr. Trump intends to cut Medicare and Social Security (Socialist Democrats’ standard false accusations against any GOP nominee), the false allegation that Mr. Trump is aligned with Project 2025, impose a national sales tax, and, of course, the clear lie that Mr. Trump would install a national abortion ban.

And nothing has changed.

Over the past two weeks or so Ms. Harris has hit town halls and interviews hosted by very friendly hosts.  She’s constantly asked what she would have done differently over the past four years, years in which the country has seen soaring inflation, the doubling of food and gas prices, out of control immigration, rising crime, and a chaotic international situation about to burst into WWIII.  “Nothing comes to mind”, she responds.

Their efforts to clothe this campaign, then, came to naught.

Ms. Harris cannot think of anything she’d change because she robed herself with the policies and decisions that brought about those results, but she is calling this cloth “hope” and “joy” and that’s all the voters need to see.  These policies are designed to bring about the goal of having everybody end up in the same place with the government helping to bring about that end.  Think about that for a minute.

That is not what Americans want.  That’s not even American.

Over the coming days Ms. Harris and the Socialist Democrats will continue to weave this invisible fabric without realizing that Americans can see through it.  The Harris campaign, and Ms. Harris, is as vapid as Hans Christian Andersen’s Emperor.
