Southern Occasions florist named Small Business of the Month

LAKE PARK — Southern Occasions Florist, a full-service floral and gift shop located at 571 Lakes Blvd., Lake Park, has been recognized as Small Business of the Month by the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce. The shop is owned by Heather Squires.
For more than eight years, Southern Occasions Florist has specialized in weddings, events, and everyday floral arrangements. In addition to floral arrangements, the shop offers unique gifts, event planning, and seasonal decorations.
The shop partners with the Future Farmers of America to provide floral design training and mentoring, and is a regular participant in local events and festivals. Recently, Southern Occasions Florist moved to a larger location to accommodate its growing customer base, and the business has seen its sales double each year, the chamber said in a press release that announced the award.
As the holiday season approaches, Southern Occasions Florist is preparing for its annual Christmas Wonderland display, transforming its showroom into a festive holiday showcase with more than 20 decorated trees.
