Here comes the cool weather

VALDOSTA — South Georgia is getting ready to chill out.
Forecasters expect the upcoming week to be a great deal cooler than of late.
“If you’re a fan of cool weather, you’re going to be happy for several days,” said Tom Kines, senior meteorologist for the private forecasting firm AccuWeather.
Forecasts from the National Weather Service show towns in South Georgia starting to see the mercury drop Wednesday night following a round of overnight showers Tuesday night, leftovers from Tropical Storm Sara.
The cooldown will be caused by a cold front moving through the region, said Israel Gonzales, a meteorologist for the weather service’s Tallahassee, Fla., office.
The front will drag a large amount of dry, cool air into South Georgia behind it, he said.
From Thursday night through the weekend, South Georgia should see clear skies. “Not a whole lot of sky cover,” he said.
Daytime temperatures, which had reached unseasonably high levels for the first two weeks of November, will drop below normal across the region in coming days. Both forecasters said daytime highs will fall into the 60s, and possibly even the upper 50s, with lows in the 40s and upper 30s.
The normal average high temperature for Valdosta at this time of the year is 70, with lows in the mid-40s, Kines said.
Possible windy weather Thursday and Friday may add a little more bite to the overnight lows, Gonzales said.
Neither meteorologist saw any real chance of severe weather in the region.
