Blazers earn No. 1-Seed in NCAA semifinals; Host Minnesota State Saturday at noon

VALDOSTA — Fresh off a 49-14 victory over No. 25 Virginia Union, the No. 1 Valdosta State Blazer football team earned the top-seed in the NCAA Division II Semifinals and will host Minnesota State for a berth in the NCAA National Championship on Dec. 21 in McKinney, Texas. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Minnesota State defeated rival Bemidji State 27-23, on Saturday afternoon to advance to the semifinals. Minnesota State and the Blazers played in the national semifinals in 2012 in Mankato, Minnesota, with VSU winning 35-19, en route to the Blazers’ third football national title.

Tickets will go on sale for the semifinal on Monday, Dec. 9, at 9 a.m. ET, and VSU season ticket holders will have until Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m., to purchase their tickets for the semifinal. Any season tickets not purchased by Wednesday at 5 p.m., will be released to the general public.

Fans can purchase tickets by calling 229-333-SEAT (7328) or in person at the VSU Athletic Ticket Office or online by clicking here. Advanced ticket sales will be available in person online or by calling the ticket office until Friday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. Fans can purchase walk-up tickets on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium at 10:15 a.m., the day of the game.

Prices for the national semifinals tickets are $20 for reserved seats, $12 for adult general admission and $8 for senior citizens (6 years of age and up), college student with valid school ID and youth.
