VALDOSTA —  Lowndes Associated Ministries to People, Inc. hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their facility, located at 714 Charlton Street, to celebrate recent renovations and their ongoing dedication to supporting individuals and families facing homelessness in South Georgia.
The ribbon cutting marked the completion of two newly renovated rooms at LAMP, funded by the contributions of the Bruce Williams Legacy Fund and The Judy Hathcock Family Foundation. These renovations are part of LAMP’s “New Horizon” Capital Campaign, aimed at enhancing facilities to better serve the growing needs of the community. Plans include upgrading dormitories, kitchen appliances, and other essential infrastructure to improve daily operations and provide a more dignified environment for clients.
In addition to facility improvements, LAMP is preparing for the “Camp Out for Homelessness” event in Spring 2025. This unique event will engage the community in raising awareness about homelessness while offering participants a chance to experience a night outdoors to better understand the challenges faced by those without stable housing. The event will include storytelling sessions, fundraising opportunities, and activities to spark empathy and drive change.
