Matthew Varn, MD, joins SGMC internal medicine residency program faculty

Matthew Varn, MD, has joined SGMC Health. Dr. Varn, a board-certified internal medicine physician, joins SGMC Health as part of the teaching faculty for the Graduate Medical Education Internal Medicine Residency program.
Dr. Varn earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Valdosta State University and his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mercer University Internal Medicine program at Navicent Health in Macon, where he served as chief resident.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Varn to our residency program faculty,” said Greg Beale, MD, program director at SGMC Health. “His expertise, dedication to patient care, and passion for academic medicine align perfectly with our mission to train the next generation of outstanding physicians.”
Varn is married to Dr. Jessica Varn, a local dentist, and they have four daughters.
