ATLANTA — Valdosta and Lowndes each merited an honorable mention player on the 2024 Atlanta Journal-Constitution football All-State list.

Neither name should be a surprise, considering how excellent their seasons were. Valdosta’s player is quarterback Todd Robinson and Lowndes’ is Marvis Parrish, who is listed as an athlete.

Parrish accounted for 27 touchdowns this season.  He rushed for 21, caught four and threw for two. He finished just short of 1,000 rushing yards at 928 while adding almost 400 receiving yards.

Robinson threw for 2,290 yards with 22 touchdowns. A leg injury limited his rushing numbers in the second half of the season, but he had 538 yards and 11 touchdowns in that department.

Both players are seniors. Robinson will head for the University of Georgia. Parrish is listed as a Navy commit.

Valdosta and Lowndes each advanced to the second round of the 2024 state tournament.

Around Region 1-6A, Colquitt Count had two All-State players. Kicker Brett Fitzgerald earned first team and defensive lineman Amari Wilson was honorable mention.

Camden County’s Elyiss Williams earned first team on offense. Richmond Hill had an honorable mention player in linebacker Lee Johnson. Tift County had no selections.
