STATENVILLE — The Echols County Board of Education has announced its intention to opt out of the statewide adjusted base year ad valorem homestead exemption for the Echols County School system.

All concerned citizens are invited to any of three public hearings on this matter to be held at the Echols County Board of Education:

— 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10.

— 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17.

— 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11.
