St. Matthew 27:38: “Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.”
The thief on the right side said, St. Luke 23:42-43: “And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise (Heaven).” These are the sinners of the world who repented and believed the teachings of Jesus; that He is the Christ, the Son of the living God.
The thieves are the sinners of the world. The one on the right hand is the repentant sinner; the other on the left represent sinners who will not repent.
Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” That is why the Father sent Jesus to give us a second chance to be saved. Psalm 58:3: “The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.”That is why we must be born again. St. John 3:5: “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
