VALDOSTA — The South Georgia Entertainers will meet 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Turner Center for the Arts, 527 N. Patterson St.

SGE is led by local musicians Lloyd Carter (Lloyd Carter Band) and Aaron Strickland (Naturally Southern) and meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Turner Center for the Arts in Valdosta, unless otherwise noted. The group brings musicians of all ages and experience levels together to discuss key industry issues, regional opportunities available, and ways to support one another.

The guest speaker Monday evening is Mark Prain. Prain is an IT professional of 25 years, currently employed at Valdosta City Schools as the IT specialist for the Special Education Department. He is also a singer/songwriter and performing musician, who has played with various Valdosta-based music groups for the past three decades. Since the advent of Generative AI with the release of Open AIs ChatGTP in November 2022, Prain has been experimenting with all types of creative generative AI apps including AI text to art, AI text to video, and his most recent passion, AI text to song generation, and he is eager to share what he has learned with other aspiring artists, poets, song writers, and musicians.
