VALDOSTA — Two teens were arrested Wednesday after one entered a woman’s bedroom through a window and the other held a gun on the woman’s mother.
Around 11:20 p.m., police headed to the 1400 block of San Bernardino Way after someone called E911 about a dispute, a Valdosta Police Department statement said.
The victim said a man — later identified as a 17-year-old Valdosta man — opened her bedroom window and entered without permission; once the woman saw the man in her room, she tried to run, the statement said.
The suspect took her cell phone and pushed her to the ground.
The woman’s mother heard the commotion and went outside to see what was happening; when she attempted to pull the suspect off her daughter, a second suspect — a 19-year-old Valdosta man — pointed a gun at her and threatened her, police said.
The two suspects left in a car, which was found in the 500 block of South Lee Street during a traffic stop. The 19-year-old tried to run but was caught, and officers found a stolen handgun in his clothing, the statement said.
The 17-year-old was charged with felony first degree burglary, felony robbery by sudden snatching, misdemeanor simple battery-family violence and misdemeanor cruelty to children-third degree, the police statement said.
The 19-year-old was charged with felony aggravated assault, felony terroristic threats, felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony theft by receiving stolen property-firearm and misdemeanor obstruction of a law enforcement officer, the statement said.
