Generals’ Lawson wins region wrestling

DASHER — The Georgia Christian Generals wrestling team performed an outstanding performance at the GIAA Region 2 wrestling championship on Jan. 31 at Brookstone School in Columbus. Competing against 12 schools, the Generals showcased their strength and skill, earning multiple top finishes and securing spots at the state championships.

Senior Rowan Lawson led the way by capturing the region championship in the 175-pound weight class, cementing his dominance on the mat. Jett Guilliams battled to a third-place finish in the 215-pound division, while Noah Stephenson claimed fourth place in the 190-pound weight class.

With these strong performances, Lawson, Guilliams, and Stephenson all qualified for the GIAA state championships, highlighting a successful day for the Generals. Under the leadership of head coach Langdon Root and assistant coach Mike Johnson, the team continues to make strides in the program’s growth and competitive success.
