HAHIRA —  Valwood School’s Odyssey of the Mind team took first place at the Southern Region Tournament in Macon. The purpose of this competition is to focus on creative problem solving using a team approach. Teams are scored on a combination of points earned from long-term solutions, spontaneous solutions, and style.

Valwood competed in Division II, Problem 3 Cooking with Books and were the youngest division II team at the competition.  The team members are Patrick Green (fifth grade), Vihaan Agrawal (fifth grade), Lochlan Deem (fifth grade), Solomon Hardy (eighth grade), and Zachary Routsong (eighth grade).

Next, the team will travel to the State competition on March 22 in Columbus.
