Annual Memorial Program to remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

VALDOSTA — In honor of the legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Annual Memorial Program will be held at 6 p.m. April 3 at the King Monument Plaza, corner of South Ashley Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
This event is hosted by the Valdosta-Lowndes County Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Association Committee each year in memory of the civil rights leader, who was shot to death April 4, 1968.
This year’s speaker will be the Rev. Elsie Napier of Teach Outreach Ministry.
The public is invited to the free event, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. In the event of inclement weather, a venue change will be announced.
