Girls on the Run 5K brings community together Saturday

Girls on the Run South Georgia hosts its spring Girls on the Run 5K Saturday, April 12 at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College – Valdosta Campus.
Walk-up registration will close at 7:30 a.m. and the event is open to the community.
The Girls on the Run 5K is the highlight of the season, marking the completion of an eight-week program where third through eighth grade girls have built confidence, developed life skills and trained for a 5K — all while having fun and making meaningful connections.
“This event is such a powerful reflection of what Girls on the Run is all about,” said Mary Crawford, chief executive officer of Girls on the Run South Georgia. “Our participants have grown in confidence, strength, and joy—and this 5K brings it all to life.”
The Girls on the Run 5K is non-competitive and open to all ages. Families, coaches and community members join the run or cheer from the sidelines as girls cross the finish line and celebrate their achievements.
