Thomas Buran Sirmans
Thomas Buran Sirmans Sr., 78, of Cecil, died Friday, June 21, 2002, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 29, 1924, in Berrien County to the late Lonnie Buran and Thelma Smith Sirmans. Mr. Sirmans was a retired minister and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church near Cecil. He is survived by his wife, Edna L. Sirmans of Cecil; two sons, Tommy Sirmans and Kenneth Sirmans of Cecil; two daughters and one son-in-law, Martha and Henry Thrailkill of Fayetteville and Barbara Whittemore of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jason Sirmans, Michelle Brooks and Eric Brooks; one great granddaughter, Ariel Boyd; one brother and sister-in-law, Waunell and Don Bell of St. Charles, Mo. Mr. Sirmans was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Sirmans and Paul Sirmans. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 2002, at 3 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Roscoe Bennett and the Rev. John Hendley officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery. Scott S. Waddell
Scott S. Waddell, 34, of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2002, at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital in Augusta after a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis. Mr. Waddell graduated from Valdosta High School in 1985 and attended Valdosta State University. He transferred and graduated cum laude from Georgia State University in 1990. He was a physician’s assistant student at the Medical College of Georgia and had worked as a registered licensed respiratory therapist. Waddell was a member of the American Respiratory Therapy Association ant the Georgia Respiratory Therapy Association. Waddell was also a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Deanna Waddell of Valdosta; his parents, Ken and Patsy Waddell of Valdosta; parents-in-law, Grady and Anne Harder of St. Petersburg, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Sanders of Colquitt; two brothers-in-law and their spouses, Buddy and Lisa Harder of Oldsmar, Fla., and Lonnie and Buffy Harder of St. Petersburg, Fla.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Waddell was preceded in death by his sister, Stephanie Leigh Waddell, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marsette Waddell. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2002, at the Park Avenue United Methodist Church, with Dr. Craig Rikard officiating. Interment will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Colquitt City Cemetery in Miller County. The visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. this evening at Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Physicians Assistant Department in the School of Allied Health at The Medical College of Georgia. Lisanne Feldman, 46, of Valdosta, died early Friday evening, June 22, 2002, after a sudden illness. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
