VALDOSTA — A Lowndes County man was killed Friday in a road accident, officials said.
Around 7:05 a.m., a Georgia State Patrol trooper headed to a two-vehicle accident on Ga. 7, near Bethany Road in Lowndes County, said a Georgia State Patrol statement.
Charles Peace, 43, of Lowndes County was heading south in a car while another driver was heading north in a semi, the statement said.
For reasons unknown, Peace crossed the lane and was hit head-on by the semi, the state patrol said. Peace was not secured by a seat belt and was partially ejected. He was pronounced dead on the scene, the statement said.
