I agree totally with Roger Budd. I went through much similar “red tape” two years ago when opening a business within the city limits of Valdosta. Many discussions were held with city leaders, the Chamber of Commerce and other business owners. It appears that not much has changed. I know of several businesses who have said “no” to Valdosta due to the red tape.
Another major sport’s weekend and another Mediacom outage. Can our City Fathers please get a real Cable company for Valdosta? Mediacom has been rated dead last for three years in a row by Consumer’s Report with Comcast one spot up the ladder.
First the DNR removes Chet Powell from Reed Bingham State Park and ignores petitions with thousands of signatures of local citizens. Now it looks like the EPD, also under the direction of DNR commissioner Chris Clark, has covered up the fact that other DNR employees buried toxic waste as Powell had reported.
We just got home from the Lowndes High School play “All Shook Up”. Those kids were amazing. I have seen Broadway plays that weren’t as good as this high school play. It was the most enjoyable evening I have spent in a long time. Great acting, great music and lots of laughs…..Super job LHS.
What is with these antiquated Georgia school systems requiring parents to camp out just to get their children a pre-K education? Wake up and move on to a lottery system like better school districts all over the country have done for years! I’m thankful my children are older, that I didn’t have to go through that, and that they got an excellent education (before we moved to Georgia!).
When I was Drum Major of the Bridegmen $369 for DM camp, $180 for band camp, Trip to Disney, Chicago, Dome; I agree if you can’t fork out $20 for tryouts you won’t make it that far in the season
Yes consolidation of the schools is probably a good idea. More importantly though to the community and to attract new businesses would be the consolidation of the city and county governments.
Sincere “Thank You” to Amy at UPS for the kindness she showed me when calling about rescheduling my delivery. The young man who brought my package was also very nice. If every one had these folks as customer service representatives, we would all be better served.
