Robert Lewis Crafton
MADISON, Fla. — Robert Lewis Crafton, age 100, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, in Pinetta. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2005, at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel, with burial to follow in Mount Horeb Cemetery, Pinetta. The family will receive friends Friday, July 8, from 6-8 at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Pinetta Baptist Church Building Fund, Pinetta, Fla. 32350.
He was born in Suwannee County, Fla., and lived most of his life in Madison County. He was a farmer and a member of Pinetta Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred S. Crafton of Pinetta; one daughter, Patty C. Fourakers and husband Bill of Pinetta; three stepdaughters, Edna McCormick of Pinetta, Doris Day of California, Dale Lilley of Johnson City, Tenn.; one stepson, Clyde Day of Valdosta, Ga.; one daughter-in-law, Patsy C. Crafton of Pinetta; one sister, Lillie Mae Sexton of Madison; seven grandchildren, Shirley Kelley, William Fourakers, Elizabeth Hollingsworth, Ginny Brantley, Holly DeWitt, Eva Crafton and Bobbi Crafton; and nine great-grand-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Reaves Crafton, and eight children: Bobby, Eugene, Miriam, Mildred, Janie Lee, Helen, Harry and infant Crafton. — Beggs Funeral Home
Michael Lee (Mike) Hamby
THOMASVILLE — Michael Lee (Mike) Hamby, 52, of Thomasville, died on Tuesday, July 5, 2005, from injuries received in an automobile accident. Born in Valdosta on Nov. 10, 1952, he was the son of William C. and Sue Kilcrease Hamby. Mr. Hamby was a musician. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a Protestant.
Survivors are his son, Christopher Lee Hamby of Jacksonville, Fla.; granddaughter, Leigh Danielle Hamby of Norman Park; his mother, Sue Hamby of Valdosta; a brother, F. Calvin Hamby of Appling; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Stephen Hamby, and his grandmother, Polly Kilcrease.

Garey Franklin (Frank) Wood
LAKE CITY, Fla. — Garey Franklin (Frank) Wood, 38, of Lake City, FL and formerly of Valdosta died Friday, July 1, 2005 in Inverness, Fla. Born July 8, 1966, in Grove City, Pa, he is the son of Garey and Marie Squires Wood of Valdosta. Frank was a district manager for Stanley Steamer, was a member of the First Christian Church of Valdosta and had been in the US Army. He attended Valdosta Technical College where he served as the Student Government President and was the 1994 GOAL winner. He also attended Auburn University.
Survivors in addition to his parents include a son, Jonathan Bryant Wood of Valdosta; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Wesley Force of Valdosta and Lydia Marie and Donald Dawkins of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; paternal grandmother, Pearl Wood of Clayton, N.C.; three nephews, Daniel Force, Corey Dawkins and Alden Force; three nieces, Jessica Dawkins, Sara Force and Amanda Dawkins; and several aunts and uncles. Frank was preceded in death by a brother Andrew Bryant Wood; his maternal grandparents, Andy and Carolyn Squires and his paternal grandfather Thedford Wood.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Dr. Milton West will officiate. Interment will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. this evening. Mrs. Rose Marie Bevis Aldridge, 70, of Blackshear passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2005, in the Specialty Hospital of Jacksonville, Fla. following a brief illness. Services for Mrs. Aldridge will be held Friday, July 8, 2005, at 3 p.m. from the Indian Mound Baptist Church in Millwood, Ga. Interment will be held in the Indian Mound Church Cemetery in Millwood. Mrs. Aldridge will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7- 9 p.m. this evening.
