Laurana Layton among performers in Piedmont University concert
DEMOREST — Laurana Layton of Valdosta will be among the Piedmont University students performing in a fall concert 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Piedmont University Chapel.
The auditioned group of 30 talented singers is comprised of music majors and non-music majors representing a variety of disciplines across campus. Layton is working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre.
Last month, Layton was among the leading players in the Piedmont University Theatre Department’s production of “The Laramie Project.” “The Laramie Project” depicts the aftermath of the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man in Laramie, Wyoming. The play aims to promote dialogue about equality, acceptance, and tolerance.
