Vernice C. Wynn
Vernice C. Wynn, age 91, of Jasper, FL. passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at her home, following an illness of some time. Vernice was born in Lee, FL. to the late Simeon and Piercie Waters Driggers. She was a homemaker and member of Harvest Fellowship Church in Jasper.
Mrs. Wynn was preceded in death by her husband, Milledge C. “M.C.” Wynn in 1994. Survivors include one son, Benny Wynn, Live Oak, FL.; two daughters, Josephine Clements and Mavis Kennon, both of Jacksonville, FL.; two sisters, Clydie Russell, Lancaster, CA and Adelia Gordon, Jacksonville, FL.; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 13, 2010 at Harvest Fellowship Church with Pastor Jerry Thomason assisted by Rev. Dennis Langford. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Marion J. Dees, Jr.
January 25, 1932 – August 24, 2010
Mr. Marion J. Dees, Jr., age 78, former resident of Vero Beach, FL. passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL. Mr. Dees was born on Jan. 25, 1932 in Orlando, FL. to the late Marion J. (Sr.) and Cuthma Dees. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering and was hired by Lockheed where he worked on the Polaris Missile and the Lasa 60. He then became a Designated Engineering Representative for the FAA in Structures and worked on the C-130 Hercules still in production today. In about 1973 he joined Piper as VP of Engineering working in Lock Haven, PA, Lakeland, and Vero Beach, FL. His career would also include work with Sino Swearingen, Weber Aircraft, Safire Aircraft and Liberty Aircraft and was credited with involvement in 45 aircraft FAA certifications. Mr. Dees served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Dees, Gainesville, FL.; three sons, Mark Dees (Bonnie), Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ben Dees of North Carolina and David Dees (Jenny), Lubbock, TX.; one daughter, Peggy Dees-Moseley (Dan), Redmond, Washington; four step-children, Jimmy Campbell, Chattanooga, TN., Karen Esler, Portland, OR., Debbie Carter, Orlando, FL., and Billy Lister, Brandon, FL.; seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 29th in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. Interment followed at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL. 32606.

Dr. William Harold Parady
Dr. William Harold Parady, age 91, of Valdosta, Georgia and a former Athens, Georgia resident passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 following a brief illness.
Parady was born May 8, 1919 to the late William and Frances Parady. On September 11, 1943 he married the love of his life, Eloise Deas. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a decorated war veteran. Following the war Mr. Parady worked several jobs waiting for the economy to recover. His work with the Implement and Tractor Division of Ford Motor Company earned him recognition at the University of Georgia where he was asked to compile research on tractor hydraulics.
He then joined the American Association for Vocational Instructional Materials (AAVIM) which was housed on the University of Georgia campus. The AAVIM published and distributed instruction manuals for vocational education. Dr. Parady authored, co-authored and/or participated in the editing of seventy-eight books. He retired in 1986 and later moved to Macon, Georgia where he made his home before moving to Valdosta.
He is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Eloise “Tot” Deas Parady; several nieces and nephews and great- nieces and great- nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at Burnham Christian Church with Pastor Johnny Brown officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
