Player of the Year

Matt Moses, Suwannee, Sr.

-Moses not only delivered on the mound but at the plate to help lead the Bulldogs to their first district title in years and a secound round playoff appearance. The Chipola Community College signee batted .375 with 16 RBI’s, was 9 of 10 in stolen bases and 6-1 on the mound with a 1.26 ERA with 96 strikeouts and 25 walks.   

Coach of the Year:

Shannon Jernigan, Suwannee

-After finally getting everyone back together after several injuries, Jernigan helped guide the Bulldogs (20-10) to a surprising district tournament title and long playoff run.

1. Jon Matthews, Melody, Sr., INF-Led team with .338 average, 8 home runs and 25 RBIs.  

2. Ethan Perry, Lafayette, Sr. INF-.487 average, 17 RBIs, 7 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs, 

3. Ryan Dasilva, Suwannee, Jr. OF-.403 average, 23 RBIs, 8 doubles

4. Matt Moses, Suwannee, Sr. UT-.375 average, 16 RBIs, 6 doubles and 9 of 10 stolen bases and 6-1 on the mound with a 1.26 ERA, 96 strikeouts and 25 walks.     

5. Matt Pennington, Suwannee, Jr. UT-.377 average, 17 RBIs and 5 doubles and 1-1 on the mound with 2.21 ERA, 20 strikeouts and 11 walks.  

6. Justin Hicks, Suwannee, Sr. OF-.340 average, 19 RBIs, 10 doubles.

7. Greg Bowers, Suwannee, Sr., INF-.321 average, 21 RBIs, 5 doubles, 3 home runs and 7-4 on the mound with 3.68 ERA, 45 strikeouts and 19 walks.      

8. Anthony Ingram, Hamilton, Jr. UT-.323 average, 16 RBIs, 4 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs and 2-1 on the mound with 5.33 ERA, 24 strikeouts and 14 walks.

9. Kevin VanAsch, Branford, Sr. OF-.377 average, 20 RBIs, 4 doubles and 3 home runs.

Second team

1.  Blake Swann, Suwannee, Jr., INF-.297 average, 20 RBIs, 6 doubles and 3 home runs.

2. Gerald Bristol, Hamilton, Jr. OF-.338 average, 10 RBIs, 6 doubles.

3. Jackson Brown, Suwannee, Jr., INF-.253 average, 10 RBIs, 11 of 11 stolen bases. 

4. Sam Arnold, Branford, Jr., INF-.394 average, 7 RBIs and 7 doubles.

5. Danny Johnston, Branford, Jr., UT-.400 average, 8 RBIs, 5 doubles and 3-0 on the mound with 2.13 ERA, 16 strikeouts and 10 walks.    

6. Chris Mercedez, Lafayette, Sr., C-.368 average, 26 RBIs, 5 doubles and 2 home runs.

7.  Derek Johnson, Melody, UT-.290 average, 1000 fielding percentage, 28 stolen bases, 3-0 on the mound.  

8. Joel Zamora, Hamilton, Jr., INF-.235 average, 13 RBI,  2 doubles and 2 home runs.    

9. AJ Smith, Melody, .338 average, 22 RBIs, 3 home runs
