Lucille Martin

ADEL — Mrs. Lucille Martin, 87, Adel died on Dec. 9, 2001, at Memorial Hospital of Adel. She was born on Jan. 9, 1914, in Granite City, Ill. to the late Albert Forrest and Naomi Miller Montague. She lived in Cook County for the past eight years. She was a retired cosmetologist and member of Adel Church of God. She is preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Montague, Cecil Montague, Paul Montague, Albert Montague and two sisters, Jessie Mae Jennings and Sarah Shaffer. She is survived by her husband, Samuel L. Martin of Adel; two step sons, Charles Martin of Crystal River, Fla. and Gerald Martin of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two step daughters, Brenda Adams, Merritt Island, Fla., Tami Cox, Cairo, Ga.; six step grandchildren; two step great- grandchildren; one sister, Geraldine Roberson of East Jordan, Mich.; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Hwy. 41 South with Min. Bill Ward officiating. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Joan Theresa Mackenzie

VALDOSTA — Joan Theresa Mackenzie, 68, of Valdosta died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at her home. She was born on Feb. 5, 1933, in Bronx, N.Y. to the late Charles and Mae Lynch McBurnie and had lived in Valdosta for the past four and a half years. Mrs. Mackenzie was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Donald Mackenzie of Valdosta; four children, Maureen Malhotra of Shorman, N.Y., Donald Mackenzie of Miller Place, N.Y., Donna Walker of Valdosta and Douglas Mackenzie of York, Pa. She was the loving Meme of 11 grandchildren. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Father John O’Brien officiating. Susan P. Radford

Susan P. Radford of Monroe died Dec. 8, 2001, in the Walton Medical Center. She was 62. A native of Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. Penny and Doris Stern Penny. A resident of Monroe for 11 years, she attended S. Anthony’s and Sacred Heart Schools in Atlanta and Auburn and the University of Georgia. She served on the Monroe-Walton Library Board, was a member of the Monroe Arts Guild and the Athenaeum Club and supported many civic and cultural affairs throughout the state of Georgia. She had traveled to many countries of the world. Funeral services were held Dec. 11, 2001, in the Chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Connell officiated. Entombment services were held in Arlington Memorial Park, Atlanta. Surviving are her husband: Lewis C. Radford; children: Maj. Gregory Dodge, U.S. Army, of Atlanta, Philip Dodge of St. Augustine, Fla., Warren Dodge of Orlando, Fla., Andrew Dodge of Wilmington, N.C., Peggy Radford Hallman of Atlanta, Mary Radford of Big Canoe, Kathy Radford Byrne of Loganville, Lewis Radford of Winder and Thomas Radford of Dacula; two brothers: Donald Penny of Valdosta and Norman Penny of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; 19 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, John Radford. Those desiring are requested to make donations to the Monroe-Walton Library, 217 W. Spring St., Monroe, Ga. 30655. Arthur Bowick Inc., Funeral Directors, were in charge of arrangements.



LaQuita M. Blanton

LaQuita M. Blanton, 63, died on Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at her home in Valdosta. No services are scheduled at this time and will be announced by Carson McLane Funeral Home.
