W. Wayne Edwards, 48, Live Oak, Fla. passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010. The Coral Gables, Fla. native moved to Live Oak in 1977 from Coral Gables. He was owner/operator of Edwards Insurance Co. in Live Oak for 21 years and a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his parents, Wade & Winona Edwards, Live Oak, Fla.; two sons, Clint & Ashley Edwards, Live Oak, Fla. and Clay Edwards, Live Oak, Fla.; their mother, Valarie Edwards, Live Oak, Fla.; one sister, Terry Allen, Live Oak, Fla.; one brother, Leon Edwards, Live Oak, Fla.; and one grandson, Harlon Edwards.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Community Presbyterian Church with Father Don Woodrum and Rev. Randy Wilding officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery.
In addition to being a successful businessman, Mr. Edwards was known throughout Suwannee County and beyond as an artist. He also liked to hunt and spend time with his family.

William Robert “Bill” Yates

William Robert “Bill” Yates, 67, died October 1, 2010 in Tallahassee. A memorial service will be held 12 noon Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Crawfordville United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Promise Land Ministries Lighthouse 20 Church Road Crawfordville, FL 32327. Bill was born in Leonardtown, Maryland and was a longtime resident of the Tallahassee and Crawfordville area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bill retired from FDLE with fifteen years of service and lengthy service in law enforcement. He was a member of Crawfordville United Methodist Church and Providence Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Yates, his children, Robert (Debbie) of Branford, Katherine and Deborah both of Tallahassee, Chris (Emily), and Jeffrey, both of Crawfordville, five grandchildren, his mother, Carrie, of Crawfordville, and one sister, Patricia, of Tallahassee. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Bob. Bill was dearly loved by his large extended family and friends, who will miss “the tall good looking one.”
Joseph F. Asarisi

Mr. Joseph F. Asarisi passed away on October 2, 2010 at his home in McAlpin, Fla. Mr. Asarisi was born on July 5, 1935. He was retired from the Air Force and from a career as a steel worker. He is survived by one brother and one sister, both of Connecticut; five sons, 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing at D.M. Udell Funeral Home, 120 S. Walker Ave., Live Oak, Fla., on October 6, 2010 from 5-7 p.m.
A military burial will follow on October 7, 2010 at Bushnell National cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

Buren Alex Hendrix

Buren Alex Hendrix, age 52, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at his home. The Plant City, Fla. native move to Live Oak twenty-two years ago from Tampa, Fla. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Suwannee County. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, collecting old coins and was a member of the Grace Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Hendrix, Live Oak, Fla.; father Alex Hendrix, Brandon, Fla.; four sons, Nakoma Hendrix Sr., Raymond Hendrix and Alex Hendrix all of Live Oak, Fla. and David Hendrix, Tampa, Fla.; six brothers, Clarence Eugene Hendrix, Horace Lee Hendrix and Lewis Hendrix all of Tampa, Fla.; James Emanuel Hendrix, Live Oak, Fla.; Rory Dale Hendrix, Plant City, Fla.; Charles Hendrix, Brandon, Fla.; one sister, Julia Faith Hendrix, Manassas, Va.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Clayton “Jim” Logan

Clayton “Jim” Logan, age 87, of Live Oak, Florida passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lake City, Fla. following a lengthy illness. He was born in Wever, Iowa and grew up in Illinois. After he retired he moved to Live Oak, Fla. in 1985 from Amarillo, Texas. Jim worked for many years in the trucking industry. He was a WWII veteran and was a member of the American Legion, AARP and National Rifle Association and was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Logan, Live Oak, Fla.; one son, Gene Logan of Hendersonville, N.C.; two daughters, Barbara Elaine Taylor, Aiken, S.C. and Beverly Annette Tester, Hendersonville, N.C.; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Private visitation was held Friday evening at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services were held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Father Andy Mitera officiating.

Helen M. Berry, 82, of Live Oak, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010 in the Surrey Place Care Center, Live Oak, Fla. The Echols County, Ga. native Lived most of her life in Live Oak, Fla. She was a homemaker and attended the Live Oak Church of God.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 in the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Statenville, Ga. With Rev. Lee Barnes officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6 to 8 pm at Daniels Funeral Home, Live Oak, Fla.
