Donna Jean Crites, 71-years-old, born March 30, 1940 entered into eternal rest on April 16, 2011.

Cremation will take place and no services are planned.

She is survived by five sons, two daughters, 29 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Carl Christopher (Chris) Hawkins

June 21, 1946 –

April 16, 2011

 

Chris Hawkins, age 64 of Mayo, Fl. passed away at his home on April 16, 2011 following a brief illness. Chris was born and raised in Live Oak, Fl. After graduation, he joined the Florida National Guard. He completed his basic training at Ft. Knox, South Carolina. After he retired from the National Guard, he worked as a volunteer fireman for the city of Live Oak and worked at the family business, Carl’s Radio & TV. He was also a high school football referee for many years. In 1967, he married Charolette Snipes and they began their life in Mayo. In 1983 he began a career as a correctional officer at Mayo Correctional Institution, retiring after 21 years of service. Chris was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. He was an avid local football fan along with a huge Florida Gators fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Hawkins Jr and Joline Hawkins.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Charolette Hawkins, one daughter, Kim Shiver, both of Mayo, Fl.; two grandchildren, James (JC) Shiver Jr. and Nina Shiver, both of Live Oak; one brother, Ralph (Lynn) Hawkins, of Live Oak; three aunts, two nephews, one great nephew and one great niece, two step-nieces and two great step-nephews.

Visitation was held Monday evening April 18th from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Johnson and Rev. T. J. Santerfeit officiating.

Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.

Timothy Blake Guyton

April 1, 1963 –

April 15, 2011

Mr. Timothy Blake Guyton, 48, of Mayo, Fl., passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 from injuries sustained in an accident. Mr. Guyton was born April 1, 1963 to the late James Lewis, and Betty Tinney, Guyton. He has been a resident of Mayo since 2003 after moving from McAlpin, Fl. Mr. Guyton worked for Pilgrim’s Pride as a field supervisor for many years. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Guyton was a loving and devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, farming and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Tammy Lawson Guyton; one daughter, Darby and 1 son, Lang Guyton, all of Mayo; two brothers, James Lewis Guyton Jr., of Pembroke Pines, Fl., and John Kipling Guyton of Orlando, Fl.; two sisters Micki Bennett, and Christy Howard of Daytona, Fl., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Guyton were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Airline Baptist Church with Bro. Chip Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening April 18, also at Airline Baptist Church.
