ADEL — Mrs. Rose F. Gornto, 100, of Adel died on July 30, 2002, at Memorial Convalescent Center of Adel after a short illness. She was born on May 13, 1902, in Cook County to the late Lawrence G. and James Anna Brown Folsom. She lived in Cook County all of her life. She was a homemaker and member of Salem United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Colon Gornto; four brothers and one sister. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Edgar and Latrelle Gornto of Adel and Raymond and Marilyn Gornto of Perry, Ga.; four grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Adel with the Rev. R.V. Williams and Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. Burial will be held in Woodlawn City Cemetery.
