Cartwright to lead FFA

Joey Cartwright, a junior at Branford High School is the incoming president of the chapter of Future Farmers of America, as announced by Ray Land, the outgoing president at the annual awards and recognition banquet held Friday evening, May 14. Cartwright served the chapter as reporter during the 2003-2004 school year.



The 68th Annual Parent-member banquet was presided over by 2003-04 Ray Land, with all the officers and the advisor Jimmy Wilkerson taking part in ceremonies.



The welcome was given by BHS Principal Ted Roush. Deanna Knighton, chapter chaplain gave the invocation. Chapter officers did the opening ceremony, they include Ray Land, president, Keri Frierson, vice president, Hillary Smith, secretary, Farren Knighton, treasurer, Joey Cartwright, reporter and advisor Jimmy Wilkerson.



Working alongside President Cartwright during the 2004-2005 school year will be: Farren Knighton, vice president; Hillary Smith, secretary; Mariah Knighton, treasurer; Tera Harrison, reporter; Tabitha Crisp, chaplain; Kelsey Brown, historian; Katelynn Kelley, parliamentarian, and sentinel Toby Crisp.
