Suwannee County is a busy place filled with a lot of good hearted people, so much so that their good deeds are noticed. Take for instance the Great Suwannee River Cleanup.  The event kicked off its 2nd annual event Saturday at Ivey Memorial Park in Branford. A Tampa father make the trek up here and brought along his two daughters to help clean our mighty Suwannee River. Great job to all those involved in taking their time to pick up someone else’s trash.

To everyone else who may read this, take a close look at the composite sketch on the front page. This is a sketch of the person police believe is responsible for attacking her. If you recognize this person, please do the right thing and report this person to the nearest law enforcement agency.

Railroad Days is just around the corner. In its third year, the event will be held at the Suwannee County Historical Museum. We’re sure the event will be a success as it has been in the past. Who doesn’t like railroad history?

We’re interested in the public getting to step foot inside the newly restored passenger depot. We have seen it and it sure is nice. Stop by on Sept. 24, the event kicks off at 9 a.m. The depot will be open to the public at 9:30 a.m. Bring the kids, let them have a little fun while learning about our history.

Suwannee Democrat reporter Jeffry Boatright will be on hand recounting stories from the past. You decide if they are true or fiction.
