Macell Duncan

Macell Duncan, 93, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at her residence following a long illness. Mrs. Duncan was born July 29, 1918 in Baker County, Florida and moved to the Branford area in 1962 from Jacksonville, Florida. She was an owner operator of Duncan’s Grocery in Branford from 1972 until 1993 and a member of the First Baptist Church of Branford. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Thomas L. Duncan.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan and Tommy Sims of Branford, one son, Kim and Ruth Duncan of Louisville, Ky. One sister, Alberta Swanner of Branford. Four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Branford. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation was held Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers family request donations to Hospice of the Nature Coast or the First Baptist Church of Branford.
