LOWNDES COUNTY — County commissioners have named 911 Director Nick Lacey as Interim County Manager, effective July 1.

Lacey said he is no stranger to the position. He served as interim County Manager in 1997 after the former County Manager Mike Stewart accepted a position with the Association of County Commission Governments (ACCG).

Lacey served for about six months before former County Manager Alan Ours accepted the position in late 1997.
