This all about racism. The CUEE crowd are afraid of the city council and the city school board becoming majority African American.

I am a die hard Viking fan but I must admit the Wildcats out played us. They really deserved the win but I was heart broken. Still love my Vikings!

I just learned that having two school systems brings more federal and state dollars to the community than a single system would bring. The difference would then have to be made up in local taxes.

Regarding the consolidation opinion letter from the lady from Lagrange, why do we want to be like Lagrange? What makes it such a great place? Haven’t their great school system failed AYP the last five years in a row? Yeah, great decision.

Instead of the divisiveness of consolidation, we should all try and bottle the cohesion shown before the Winnersville game when both bands were on the field, both stands were on their feet, the national anthem was sung and a very touching prayer was offered. Those ideals are what our community should be about.

I have a friend that’s on a fixed income and her electric bill is a few dollars shy of $500 a month, which she pays. She knows how to budget her dollars, but my heart goes out to her and others like her who barely have enough to live on the rest of the month.

It seems odd that the city of Hahira can tell all commercial and housing construction companies that they can only use the city’s current contracted waste management company if anything is constructed in Hahira. Is this legal? Imagine if Valdosta tried to tell contractors which company they could only use.

Happy Birthday (Tuesday) to my favorite soldier that is currently deployed overseas. Hurry home safely. We miss you! Thank you for making the sacrifice! Peace, love and camels!

Shame on Flash Foods District Manager of the North Bemiss store! I saw a gentleman in a wheelchair park in the handicap spot go to the handicap entrance and it was locked. He tried to wheel to the other door but a trash can blocked access. If you have to lock that one, at least make the other one accessible.

A major reason so many died in the Joplin tornado was that people ignored the warning because the authorities are so quick to issue warnings that turn out to be false. I fear the same will happen in Lowndes one day. Where was any storm that we received a warning for Saturday afternoon? Save the warning for the real thing.
