Claude E. Plummer

Mr. Claude E. Plummer, a resident of Live Oak, Florida, passed away Feb. 21, 2012 at Shands Regional Medical Center in Live Oak, Fla.

Mr. Claude E. Plummer is survived by his mother, Mrs. Dinah M. Plummer Riley; children: Claude Eugene Plummer Jr., Tye Huddlfton, Ronnie Watson and Lamar Freeman; two grandchildren: Caludesha Plummer and Devonta Powe; brothers: Theodore Wilson, Lavern Riley, Edward Lee Riley, Rev. Ralph Riley, Earnest Earl Riley, Rev. Kenneth Riley, and Rev. Terry Jerome Riley; five aunts: Bertha L. McKinney, May O. Wells, Eula P. Burke, Mariah Riley and Juanita Jackson; two uncles: Izeal Plummer, and Mr. Clifton Riley Sr. and many, many cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Claude E. Plummer will be Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Greater New Bethel A.M.E. Church in Live Oak, Florida. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery in McAlpin, Florida. Visitation for family and friends will be at the D.M. Udell Funeral Home and Chapel on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 6-7 p.m.

Doris Jean Stephens

Mrs. Doris Jean Stephens, 82, of Wellborn passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2011. Mrs. Stephens was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, but had spent most of her life in the Lake City area. Mrs. Stephens lived in Wellborn since 1980 after moving there from Horseshoe Beach, Florida. Mrs. Stephens was a member of the Lake City Church of the Nazarene. She will always be remembered as a fine mother to 10 children. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by an infant child Baby Melton.

Mrs. Stephens is survived by her husband of 42 years Boyce Stephens, her sons Ronald Rust of Lake City, Donald Gillmore of Live Oak, Thomas Melton, Michael Melton, James Quinn of Lake City, Gerald Quinn of Hackleburg, Alabama, Michael Stephens of Port Orange, Florida, and a daughter Angela Stephens of Knoxville, Tennessee. Eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and other family members also survive.

A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Stephens 6 p.m. Friday March 2, 2012 in the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends in the Chapel one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice. Evond Ford

Evond Ford, 62, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012. Evond was born in Live Oak, FL and attended the Suwannee County schools.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Altermease F. Jones; three daughters, Yolanda Everett Ford, Jackiya Dionea Ford, LA, Tonya Nicole Ford of California; brothers Grover Ford (deceased), Tyrone (Kadell) Ford  of Gulfport, FL, Jerome (Yvonne) Jones, Oviedo, FL, John Edward, Tallahassee, FL, Leonard Hale, Tampa, FL. Also surviving are  sisters, Runette (Clarence) Mitchell, Orlando, FL, Delma Ford, St. Petersburg, Felecia Jones, Janisha Craft of St. Petersburg, & Gloria Seymore, Jasper, FL, and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, at Mt. Moriah AME Church, Live Oak, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Bennie Thomas Funeral Home in Live Oak.
