Evelyn Dickerson Pirkle Williamson

Evelyn Dickerson Pirkle Williamson, age 95, of Marietta, passed away on Sunday morning Feb. 12, 2012 at the home of her daughter. Evelyn was born in Clinch County, Georgia with her twin brother, Edwin, on June 16, 1916 to the late Ella Gibbs Dickerson and Isaac David Dickerson. She was a member of the Roswell United Methodist Church.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Millard Pirkle and second husband, Walter Frank Williamson as well as five brothers and one sister. She was a long time employee of Sears’s mail order department and worked there until her retirement. She kept close contact with her dear friends at Sear’s.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia (Ginny) Murphy and son-in-law, John Murphy of Marietta; grandchildren, Brian Murphy and Elizabeth Schmid; her husband William Schmid; great-granddaughter Leah Schmid as well as cherished extended family; sister-in-law, Nona Smith; nieces, Beverly Cronin, Patricia Gail Anderson, Mary Ann Maloy, Jane Tolhurst, Elizabeth Albritton; and nephew David Dickerson. Also surviving are several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in North Cemetery in Clinch County near Dupont, Ga. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.
