VSU’s Harris suspended indefinitely

A shortened, diminished roster for the Valdosta State men’s basketball team took another blow Thursday following the suspension of senior guard Sidney Harris.
Harris’ suspension is indefinite, according to Shawn Reed, Sports Informations Director at VSU.
With the Blazers in the midst of their worst season under head coach Mike Helfer, and just two weeks remaining in the regular season, it seems as though Harris’ two-year career at Valdosta State is over.
Harris was VSU’s leading scorer, averaging 14.9 points per contest, appearing in 15 games this season. Harris missed the first five games of the season due to a suspension. The Blazers are 3-2 without Harris on the floor. Harris spent part of the 2010-11 season on the bench due to a suspension.
Valdosta State (9-11) hosts sixth-ranked Alabama-Huntsville tonight at 8 p.m.
