Ruby Peace Guenther

BAINBRIDGE — Ruby Peace Guenther, 95, of Bainbridge formerly of Quitman and Cold Spring, Ky., died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, in Bainbridge.

Mrs. Guenther was born Oct. 4, 1908, in Brooks County. She was a retired registered nurse from St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas, Ky., and was a member of First Baptist Church in Bainbridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Guenther.

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Ellen and James E. Kerrick of Bainbridge, Sarah Guenther of Covington, Ky., and Margaret Guenther of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Carroll Peace of Clyattville; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 6, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Bainbridge. Graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 6 in Mount Zion Methodist Church Cemetery near Valdosta. Louise S. Paulk

VALDOSTA — Louise S. Paulk, 88, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Savannah on June 11, 1915, to the late Thomas Ellis Smith and Carmen Elizabeth Pharr Smith, she had been a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Paulk attended Mercer University and graduated from Georgia State College for Women (now VSU). She had been a member of the Valdosta Garden Club, a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and a member of First Baptist Church, having taught Sunday School for many years.

Mrs. Paulk is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Ray Bowden of Greensboro; son and daughter-in-law, Ashley and Ginger Paulk of Hahira; eight grandchildren, Jay (Missy) Bowden, Stockbridge, Marsha (Doug) Seekins, Brunswick, Brad (AnnMarie) Bowden, Beaufort, S.C., Ashley (Amy) Paulk III, Augusta, Cara (Brent) Colson, McDonnough, Trav (Sally) Paulk, Buck (Kristi) Paulk, both of Ray City, and Ginsey Paulk of Hahira; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Paulk, and a daughter, Marsha Paulk.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, March 4, 2004, in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Dr. Phil West will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on today from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Marshall L.
