Starting early last Thursday morning, over 50 mailboxes were reported damaged or destroyed to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). Officers then spent most of the day inspecting mailboxes and writing reports.

According to Sheriff Harrell Reid three young men were arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with criminal mischief. Another young man was arrested on Friday and was also charged with criminal mischief. Sheriff Reid said that the department received a call from a concerned citizen which led to their arrests.

The four who were arrested are Jimmy Neal Parker Jr, age 18, of 3162 NW 34th Blvd., Jennings; Ranndi James Johns, age 19, of 204 SE 5th St., Jasper; Christopher Davy Burnham, age 18, of 2876 34th Blvd., Jennings; and Brandon Timothy Roberts, age 19, of 13218 217th Rd., Dowling Park, Fla.

According to the arrest reports, all four state that after riding around and drinking several beers Wednesday evening, they hit the mailboxes with an aluminum bat. Tire tracks around some of the mailboxes appeared to match the tires on Parker’s vehicle, according to the arrest report.

All four posted bond and were released.
