Suwannee County Schools: Administration changes

With the 2012-13 school year coming to a close, there are several notable changes taking place within the Suwannee County School System. On Tuesday night, Superintendent of Schools Jerry Scarborough made a recommendation to the School Board to approve personnel contracts for the upcoming school year. Among all of the changes, here are some more notable ones.

Cheryl Mae Brinson, who has served as the director of special programs, retired. Her position will remain vacant.

Director of Curriculum Dawn Lamb recently turned in her resignation with an effective date of June 30. Her position will be filled by Janene Fitzpatrick, formerly an assistant principal at Suwannee Middle School.

Keri Bean will replace Fitzpatrick at SMS.

Amanda Brown has been named the assistant principal at Suwannee Intermediate School. Brown replaces Gary Caldwell who was named assistant principal at Suwannee High School.

Caldwell will replace Joe Eakins, who was assigned to a teaching position at Branford High School.

Suwannee Middle School could be looking for a new principal. According to Scarborough, Principal David Campbell told him he will be resigning effective June 30. Scarborough said Campbell will be taking a job as the principal at Lake Butler Middle School.

Although no official documents from Campbell have been received, Director of Human Resources Bill Brothers said the office has begun to advertise the position based on Campbell’s conversation with Scarborough. 
On the school district website, there is a job announcement for principal at Suwannee Middle School to replace David Campbell.
