Steady rain and wet conditions have pushed the start time of the Gulf South Conference tournament to Saturday. No games will be played on Friday.

Steinhilber earns CoSIDA Academic honors

VALDOSTA — Ashley Steinhilber has been selected as a First Team Academic All-District catcher according to a release on Friday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Steinhilber, who has accumulated a 3.57 GPA as a biology major, was chosen as the First Team catcher for District 5 in NCAA Div. 2 softball. The announcement comes on the heels of a conference announcement earlier this week which stated that the senior had also earned All-GSC honors as a second team selection.

Steinhilber and the Blazers will participate in the Gulf South Conference tournament this weekend, pending weather delays.
