Dave Walker

Dave Walker, of Mayo, Fla. passed away Wednesday Feb. 27, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. Dave was born on June 28, 1932 in Lafayette County, to the late Jeff Walker, and the late, Lucille Hicks Walker. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. He was a lifelong farmer and also worked as a livestock inspector for the Florida Department of Agriculture for 17 years. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed fox hunting, deer hunting, fishing, and riding horses.
He is survived by, his wife of 55 years, Jettie Ruth Walker, of Mayo, 2 sons, Tim Walker, and wife Rhonda, and Scott Walker, all of Mayo, 1 sister, Pat Bradley, of Ft. White, Fla., 5 grandchildren, Davey Walker, and wife Lindsey, Jennifer Wimberley, and husband Ross, Ryan Walker, Chace Walker, and wife Nicole, and Kailee Walker, all of Mayo, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 on the way, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday March 1, 2013 at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Sullivan, Rev. Bryan Parrish, and Rev. James West officiating. The family will received friends 1 hour prior to service also at the church. Interment will followed in Midway Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Florida Haven Hospice. All arrangements are under the care of Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.

Paul Webster Gresham

Paul Webster Gresham, 79, of Mayo, Fla., passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Haven Hospice of Lake City following an extended illness.  Paul was born Dec. 31, 1933 in Miami, Fla., to the late James and Lois (Branson) Gresham.
Mr. Gresham was of the Protestant Faith and was a veteran of the US Air Force where he served in the Korean war.  He worked for Seaboard Railroad for 10 years before founding and operating Gresham Tires until his retirement.   He will be remembered as one of the most generous people who enjoyed family gatherings, fishing, gardening, turkey hunting, and flying airplanes in his spare time.
He is survived by wife of 56 years Faith Thomas Gresham, of Mayo, Fla., 1 son, Michael Gresham, and wife Lucie, 1 daughter, Dawn Lamb, and husband Paul, all of Mayo, 2 brothers, Edward Gresham, and Archie Gresham, both of Gainesville, 2 sisters, Joan Tompkins, of Gainesville, and Lillian Jamerson, of Hawthorne, Fla., 2 grandchildren, Aaron and Alex Gresham, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Branford with Bro. Tim Hamm and Bro. Chan Perry officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Haven Hospice in Lake City. All arrangements are under the care of Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
