Patrick Smith’s A Land Remembered is one of Florida’s most beloved books. Here is your opportunity to get to know the author and his work as Smith’s son, Rick, takes the stage on Monday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Live Oak Public Library. He will delight audiences with a multimedia show about his father and the extraordinary experiences he had which were necessary for him to write with such authority of Florida pioneers, the Seminoles, migrant workers, “river rats” of Mississippi, the social injustices of the South and the challenges of the present.
Patrick Smith makes video appearances throughout the program to entertain and enlighten the audience about his extraordinary life as a writer and his thoughts about Florida.
This program is a sensory delight incorporating video clips, photos, paintings, music, sound effects and a few jokes to transport you to another place and time. Rick Smith narrates live throughout the show, answers questions and will happily sign your books. Books will also be available for purchase.
Come and enjoy an unforgettable journey into a Florida that once was, is no more, and never again will be.
