Janice Dobeck, 76 of Live Oak Fla., passed away peacefully to be with our Lord, on Friday Jan. 17, 2014 at her daughters home in Jasper Fla.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois on Dec. 16, 1937 to Earl and Grace Haner. She married Walter Dobeck on January 8, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois.
Mrs. Janice Dobeck loved to travel in her RV, tending her garden, playing bingo, and spending countless hours with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jennetta Haner, her son, Scott Dobeck and her husband Walter Dobeck. She is survived by two sisters, Jeneva and Judith and three daughters, Vivian Dobeck of Decatur, IL, Susan (David) Legalley of Wasilla, AK, Patricia (Billy) Davenport of Jasper, Fla., and one son, Jeremy (Tammy) Dobeck of Live Oak, Fla.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Hazel Jones a resident of White Springs, Fla. passed away Feb. 12, 2014 in the Lake City Medical Center.
Ms. Hazel Jones is survived by her sister: Mrs. Thelma Whipple; two brothers: Allen Jones and Jimmie Jones and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Ms. Hazel Jones will be held in the Sweet Home Baptist Church Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 in the Sweet Home Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. in the White Springs, Black Bay Community. Burial will be in the Ross Cemetery.

Ethel Mae Lee
Nov. 3, 1932 – Feb. 9, 2014
Ethel Mae Lee, age 81, of Jasper, Fla. passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at Haven Hospice Center in Lake City, Fla. after a lengthy battle with cancer. Everywhere she went, she told others about her faith in God and her love of his word, the Holy Bible. Ethel was born on Nov. 3, 1932 to Rufus and Mae Metcalf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan R. Lee, and two sons, Richard and Allen Lee.
Survivors include four children: Sonja Smith (Jim), Michael Lee (Melody), Michelle Lee and Theodore Lee (Ruth), of Jasper, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Lee Albury (Dan) of Lake City, Fla.; one sister, Edith Cole of Hornersville, MO.; one brother, Thomas “Buddy” Metcalf (Mildred) of St. Louis, MO.; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ethel continued her life of giving by donating her body to Science Care for medical research.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 in the chapel at Haven Hospice Center in Lake City, Fla.

Dorothy F. Perkins
Oct. 22, 1934 – Feb. 11, 2014
Dorothy F. Perkins, 79, passed away Feb. 11, 2014. She was born to Herman and Katie Fletcher on Oct. 22, 1934, in Pembroke Pines, GA.
Dorothy is survived by her partner, Jack Soderlund; children, Cindi Ferguson, Pat Brown, Carol Lewis and Ted Woodbeck; sister, Helen Rutledge; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Gwendolyn Powell Tuten

Gwendolyn Powell Tuten, age 93, of Jasper, Fla.. passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper, Fla.
Gwendolyn was a native of Kingsland, GA. born on May 16, 1920 to the late Ralph and Annie Adicks Powell. Her early years were spent in Deland, Fla. before moving to North Fla. where she made her home. She attended Stetson University and later graduated from Valdosta State University and the University of Florida with a Master’s Degree in Education. Mrs. Tuten is remembered fondly for the many years of teaching elementary education in the Hamilton County School System. She was an active member of Jasper First Presbyterian Church as long as her health permitted.
Mrs. Tuten was predeceased by her husband, J.R. “Buck” Tuten, her parents, Ralph and Annie Powell, a brother, Robert Powell and a sister, Voncile Black.
Survivors include her two sons, Hal Tuten and his wife Dinah of Pensacola, Fla. and Steve Tuten of Jasper, Fla.; one daughter, Anne Tuten Deas and her husband Roger of Jennings, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at Jasper First Presbyterian Church, Jasper, Fla. with Pastor Sheldon Steen officiating.
Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.
