Lady dog volleyball evens season at 500

The Suwannee High Lady Dog volleyball team evened up their season record at 6-6 for the year and 4-4 in district play. The Lady Dogs are on a roll having won their last four games. On Thursday, they defeated Taylor County in three straight matches 25-17, 25-12 and 25-22.

The top Lady Dog against Taylor was Kortney Cherry with 16 service points, nine aces, six kills and two dinks.



The JV Lady Dogs also defeated Taylor in two matches 25-15 and 25-14.



Individual stats



Heather Benson had nine service points, three aces, 17 assists and one dink.



Kyla Serrona had seven service points, three kills, four aces, three assists and one block.



Sharon Jelks had three service points, three kills, one ace, seven assists and two dinks.



Marcella Walker had two service points, eight kills and four assists.



Heather LeBlanc had five service points, two aces, one assist and one dink.

Merlonda Owens had seven assists.



Nereyda Pecina had one assist.



Look for the Lady Dogs at home against Hamilton County Monday, Oct. 6. The JV take the court at 5 p.m. and the varsity start playing at 6:30 p.m. go Lady Dogs!
