Alton Hardee

Reverend Alton Hardee, 67, of Fargo, Ga., died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at South Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Valdosta, on May 11, 1946, he was the son of Jessie Crews Hardee and the late Harvey Mitchell Hardee. He served in the National Guard from 1965 until 1971. Reverend Hardee was the Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Valdosta for 28 years. He was a general contractor and owner of Echols Millwork and Supply in Statenville. Alton was a loving husband, devoted Christian and servant of God. He preached to his best. He loved his Lord and all people.
Survivors are his wife, Audrey Register Hardee of Fargo; his mother, Jessie Hardee of Valdosta; brothers and sister-in-law, Julian Hardee of Valdosta, Edwin and Jean Hardee of Baton Rouge, La.; sister and brother-in-law, Pearl and Richard Atkinson of Valdosta; mother-in-law, Freddie Lou Register of Fargo; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Jack Evans, Linda and Leon Worth of Fargo, Chandra and Kenny Tutt of Mayday, Jackie and Wayne Culpepper of Statenville, Chandler Register, Jr., Chester and Joyce Register of Fargo; several nieces and nephews and a loving church family. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Hardee; his father in law, Chandler Register, Sr. and his brother-in-law, Royce Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The Rev. James Young and the Rev. Wayne Boykin will officiate. Burial will follow in Wayfare Cemetery. The family received friends on Thursday evening from 6 -8 p.m. at the funeral home.
