Lady Bulldogs win two more

The Lady Dogs are cooking this year. The Suwannee High girls volleyball team is currently 7-2 for the season after two more wins. The Lady Dogs hammered Branford and Madison, winning both matches in three straight games.
On Monday Sept. 20 Suwannee took it to Branford and won 25-10, 25-15 and 25-20 to win.
Ashley Rose led the team in kills with six. Rose also had eight service points, five of them aces and four assists.
Stephanee Skipper had five kills, 11 service points, four of them aces, and three assists.
Alex Camunas had three kills, eight service points, three of them aces and three assists.
Kyla Serrano had one kill, eight service points, one of them aces, and five assists.
Merlonda Owens had two kills, four service points one of them an ace.
Heather Benson had seven service points every one of them an ace.
Nereyda Pecina, Suwannee’s defensive libero player, had two assists.
Suwannee took Madison in three games at home on Tuesday, Sept. 21, exacting some small measure of revenge for the Bulldog’ drubbing Friday night. Suwannee’s Lady Dogs took the Cowgirls 25-17, 25-13 and 25-19.
Several of Suwannee’s players racked up some serious stats during the three games. Skipper had an amazing 11 kills plus seven service points, two of those aces, and five assists.
Serrano, with her booming serve, had 12 service points, five of them aces and two kills.
Camunas had six kills for Suwannee, six service points, one ace and eight assists.
Rose had five kills, eight service points, three of them aces, and four assists.
Owens had four kills, nine service points, two of those aces.
Benson had seven service points, five of them aces, and three kills.
Pecina had six assists.
Look for more Suwannee volleyball Oct. 12 against Lafayette County. The JV play at 3 p.m. The varsity take on Lafayette in a double-header beginning at 4:30 p.m. Then on Thursday, Oct. 14, Hamilton County comes to town for a 6 p.m. game. Come out and watch this hot volleyball team. Go Lady Dogs!
